Overview

Overview

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge occupies a dramatic position perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, delivering one of East Africa’s most iconic safari vantage points. Built of local river-stone and cloaked in indigenous vines, the lodge is designed to blend into the rugged volcanic lip, appearing almost invisible from the crater floor below. The architecture evokes the crater’s prehistoric landscape — torch-lit corridors, cave-style paintings on interior walls and sweeping terraces that overlook the immense amphitheatre of plains, lakes and forest that make up the crater floor. Guests find themselves in a setting where nature’s scale and heritage converge. This lodge suits discerning safari-guests, families or small groups who want both stylish accommodation and one of Tanzania’s most celebrated wildlife arenas. Highlights / Why Stay Here • Unrivalled crater-rim location with rooms whose balconies look directly onto the caldera floor. • Architecture built into the rim, using local stone and native vegetation to minimise visual impact and maximise immersion. • Classic safari ambiance with a hearty lodge feel — central fireplace, torch-lit halls, and a sense of place tied to the ancient landscape. • Large selection of rooms that cater for couples, families and groups, many with balconies and en-suite bathrooms. • Excellent staging point for game drives into the crater, guided nature walks, Maasai cultural experiences and more.
