Elephant Behavior

Elephants are highly social animals that live in matriarchal herds led by the oldest female. Their intelligence, memory, and complex social structures make them fascinating to observe. Watching elephant family interactions is one of safari's most rewarding experiences.

Male elephants often form bachelor groups after leaving their natal herds. These groups can be seen throughout Tanzania's parks, particularly during the dry season.
